Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are working together again for what’s set to become one of the most eagerly awaited comic book superhero movies in recent years: Spider Man: Brand New Day. The recently announced installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is full of new surprises, emotional depth, and a new direction for Peter Parker. What is the Spider-Man: Brand New Day plot?

As I have noted above, there is rising excitement akin to the anticipation for The Beekeeper 2, there are concerns that Jon Watts, who directed the previous trilogy, will not confirm his return which could mean the studio is planning to take a darker, grounded approach with a new director.

Cast: Who’s Returning?

• With no new promotional material, it is confirmed that Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker / Spider Man which will be his fourth solo movie.
• Zendaya (MJ) and Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds) have not been confirmed to return because their characters do not remember Peter.
• Due to the rumored supernatural elements of the film, it is possible we see Benedict Cumberbatch back as Doctor Strange.
• There are theories as to whether new antagonists such as Kingpin, Kraven the Hunter, or Mephisto will appear.  
• Ned Leeds Ned Leeds Peter’s best friend, played by Jacob Batalon is coming back as Ned.  
• Happy Hogan: Jon Favreau returns as the bodyguard and teacher of Stark, Peter’s mentor.  
• Sadie Sink: The cast will also include the Stranger Things star in an undisclosed capacity.  
• Liza Colon Zayas is known for starring in The Bear and has also been cast in the film.
