Theme and Message

The Black Phone 2 is a film about the interconnection of time, history and the traumas that never really go away. The phone is a symbol of the relationship between the dead and the living people. It also symbolizes traumatization, metaphorical struggle and conquering those inner demons the person is strained with unlike anything else. Seemingly such an escape proves to be more isolating than liberating and the fight to conquer one’s deepest empathy in return for salvation is explored in the film too. You can read about Tron Ares.
